Pain Pushes Until Vision Pulls

February Theme — Divine Discomfort. Week 3 — Pain Pushes Until Vision Pulls.

Affirmation: My potential is bigger than my problem!

Pain acts as a motivator or driving force until the vision of a desired outcome pulls us forward. Pain, whether physical or emotional, can serve as a powerful catalyst for change and action.

This week Rev. Rainbow reminded us that "The painful situations in our life is that fertilizer that is needed to prepare the seed to bloom. And now this seed has this infinite potential within it, everything it needs to become all that it is here to be, but it must be nurtured. And one of the ways to nurture that, to grow into a strong and healthy plant, is through fertilizer."

By embracing the discomfort as a catalyst for change, we can know and remember that we are being propelled towards the expansion, the expression, the evolution of our true potential — being pushed and pulled to become that stronger, wiser, more resilient, authentic self.

“…not all pain is negative, even though we label all forms of pain as such and resist them. Positive-negativity is a circumstance that causes us to go deeper, to search ourselves, to stop placing blame on the causes of suffering outside of ourselves, and take self-responsibility.” — Dr. Michael Beckwith, Spiritual Liberation, page 69 (ebook)

“Suffering is a great awakener. Human beings go through excruciating circumstances…you will often hear individuals describe how their lives were changed for the better because of them… suffering has its own gifts that are different but equally as valuable as the gifts that happiness gives us.” — Dr. Michael Beckwith, Spiritual Liberation, page 151 (ebook)

AHA moments from members:

  • Notice the internal struggle when something no longer fits your life.

  • Pain is a catalyst to address the issue and seek solutions.

  • We try to avoid pain. What if we lean into it, as an invitation to know our own strength?
